Statement of Faith
We believe every word of the Bible was inspired by God (II Timothy 3:16, Jeremiah 26:2, Matthew 5:18, and Matthew 24:35). We believe the Bible is perfect. It contains no mistakes and is a gift from God to us (II Timothy 3:16 and II Peter 1:21). and that the King James Bible is His preserved Word for the English speaking people and is the only Bible we use for preaching, teaching, studying, etc. (Psalm 12:6-7, II Tim 3:15-17, I Peter 1:23-25, II Peter 1:19-21)
We believe there is only one true God who will live and reign for all of eternity. He manifests himself in three parts: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26, Matthew 28:19, Mark 12:30, I Timothy 1:17, I John 4:4, Revelation 4:11)
We believe Jesus Christ is the only begotten son of God and that He is the only path for mankind to enter Heaven. We believe Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, that He lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary death for all of mankind, was buried and risen again the third day. We believe He is now seated at the right hand of the Father where He intercedes for each and every believer. We believe the Holy Spirit of God convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; and, that He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption. We believe that the sign gifts of the Holy Spirit, such as speaking in tongues and the gift of healing were given as temporary means of validating the Apostles ministry, until the completion of God’s written revelation. We believe the Holy Spirit has always been involved in the affairs of mankind; however, we believe He has a special ministry that began at Pentecost and will continue until the rapture. We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin the human race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God; and, that all men are sinners by birth and by choice, and themselves, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition reforming himself or ceasing from his sin by his own power. We believe salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Whose blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins, and, that in order to be saved, sinners must be born again according to the Scriptures. We believe the only hope of deliverance for man is a total change of mind concerning his sinful condition and inability to change it, and a turning to Jesus Christ alone as their Saviour. We believe the local new testament church (which is the body and the espoused bride of Christ) is solely made up of born-again persons that have voluntarily united together for the purposes of worship, fellowship, service, and observance of the ordinances of baptism and communion. We believe that the church began with the calling out of the twelve apostles by Jesus Christ and was empowered on the day of Pentecost. We believe in the autonomy of the local church free of any external authority or control. The local church is composed of members who have been saved and baptized according to the command of Christ. We believe in the Genesis account of creation, and that it is to be accepted literally, and not allegorically or figuratively; that God created the universe in six literal, 24-hour periods. We reject evolution, the Gap Theory, the Day-Age Theory, and Theistic Evolution as unscriptural theories of origin; that man was created directly in God’s own image and after His own likeness and God’s established law was that all things should bring forth only “after their kind”. We believe that Satan is a person, the author of sin and the cause of the Fall of Man; the accuser of the saints, the author of all false religions, the chief power of the present apostasy, the lord of the anti-Christ, and the author of all the powers of darkness that he is the open and declared enemy of God and man; and that he shall be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. We believe that God disapproves of and forbids any attempt to alter one’s gender by surgery or appearance. We believe that the only legitimate marriage is the joining of one man and one woman.
